The International Conference on Mathematics and Natural Sciences (ICMNS) 2008 aims to promote interdisciplinary research in science and technology, to promote the development of science and their roles in the development of science-based technology, and to disseminate research in various field of mathematics and natural sciences.

Scope and topics
The scope of this conference is, but not limited to, in the fields of
1. Health sciences,
2. Environmental sciences,
3. Biosciences and biotechnology,
4. Physical sciences
5. Material sciences,
6. Mathematics,
7. Computer science and computational science,
8. Instrumentation, and
9. Earth and space sciences.

Scientific program
The scientific program of the conference consists of:
· Keynote Lectures,
· Invited Lectures,
· Mini Symposia organized by participants,
· Contributed Papers by participants, and
· Posters by participants.
Proceedings will be published after the conference (early 2009) in CDs. Only papers and posters that have been presented in the conference will be included in the proceeding. Please download the guideline and format for full paper from the conference website. Papers written not according to the guideline and format will not be considered to be published in the proceedings. If you have difficulty to access the site, please contact icmns08@fmipa.itb.ac.id.
Selected papers will be published after the conference in separate journals, where selection and reviewing process will be done according to the journals' guidelines.

Mini Symposia, Contributed Papers, and Posters
Participants are welcome to organize mini-symposia, present contributed papers or posters.
A mini-symposium (MS) consists of a timeslot of 90-120 minutes for lectures on a specific topic. Prospective organizers of a MS design the contents and time-division of their MS; they approach directly the lecturers, and assemble the abstracts. An organizer may propose to organize more than one MS timeslot. Submission of proposals for an MS should contain a MS-title, key-words, names and addresses of organizer and all lecturers, brief description of the topic and the abstracts of all presentations (not to exceed 300 words; in English), according to the format in the website.
Contributed papers (CP) can be submitted online by providing title, keywords, names, address and abstract (not to exceed 300 words; in English), according to the format in website.
Posters (P) can be submitted online by providing title, keywords, names, address and abstract (not to exceed 300 words; in English), according to the format in website.

Submission of contributed paper abstracts: 1 September 2008
Decision by Scientific Committee: 22 September 2008
Submission of full paper (electronic version): 30 October 2008
Registration: before 30 September 2008
(Note: Registration before 30 September 2008 is required for MS-organizers or CP-lecturers)

Registration
Registration for participation can be done from 1 July 2008.
To register for the conference, please fill out the online Registration Form.
Note that for acceptance of organizing a Mini-symposium, presenting a Contributed paper or presenting a Poster, registration BEFORE 30 September 2008 is required.

Fee
The fee includes lunches, coffee/tea breaks during conference days, and the conference kit.

Financial support
Financial support of participants is only available for a minimal extent and will be used to accommodate young scientists from Indonesia and neighboring countries. Request for financial support, with letter of recommendation by senior scientists, should be directed to the organizer before 1 August 2008.
